What is EFT Tapping?
EFT Tapping is a safe, easy-to-use, non-invasive energy modality that balances the energy system by tapping on meridian end-points. Developed by Gary Craig, a Stanford-based engineer, EFT Tapping is based on the discovery that imbalances and blockages in the energy meridians of the body can create ill health, negative emotions, and the inability to move forward in life.
How EFT Tapping Works
EFT Tapping is based on the theory that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system. As we go through life we take on beliefs and understandings as a result of our experiences and exposure to the thoughts and actions of others. Some of those beliefs and thought patterns may be strongly negative, causing varying levels of trauma to our energy system and eventually cause a blockage in the flow of energy through the meridian system. Much like our arteries carry blood through our body, the meridian system carries our energy. When there are blockages of this energy the result is negative emotion, distress, and eventually physical illness may even occur.
These symptoms are relieved through the tapping with fingertips on a simple series of acupressure points, mostly located on the face, while mentally tuning into the experiences or memories that created the negative emotions and beliefs. The results and relief experienced from this technique are remarkably consistent and lasting.
When an individual “tunes into” these memories and events and releases the emotional blockage with the use of EFT, they can no longer relate to the event on the same emotional level. Suddenly, a memory that was once painful, even crippling, turns into a faded memory – more like watching a movie instead of reliving the pain.
Releasing this pain and energy blockage allows the individual to see a new perspective and create a more balanced and positive thought pattern. Individuals who utilize EFT tapping report that they become more positive, focused, able to act on their dreams and goals, feel healthier, less stressed, more energetic and optimistic. This is a natural result of the body’s healing process, which is reported to be instrumental in, not only emotional freedom, but in allowing the body to do what comes naturally and achieve optimum health and balance.
Typically, the result is lasting and the person’s awareness and attitude changes in a positive way.
